Worms 3D - 2005 (PC/Multi5)
English | Platform: PC | Release: 2003 | Publisher: Sega | Developer: Sega | 932 MB
Genre: Strategy

The legendary series of 17 teams will launch its assault on the third dimension.
The title of Team 17 is, by its very nature, a turn-based strategy game, in which many comic play the role of earthworms on the capacities of the military. The annelids are able to move on the battlefield, looking for the most suitable location for the use of numerous weapons at their disposal.
Being mostly of throwing explosive devices, the ballistic aspect is crucial for the victory, as each player must consider the angle and power and, last but not least, the direction and strength of the wind, before to throw your shot. So far, the general discourse on Worms series, which, in principle, that is also present here for the 3D episode.
The contribution of the third dimension, however, opens up new frontiers to the ability of worms. Those who originally held the function of simple two-dimensional markers have become real soldiers, capable of moving at 360 degrees through the scenario, executing jumps (even double) and using an arsenal worthy of a superpower (not the last nuclear attack!).
Both movements on the battlefield, both the pointing of weapons, are controlled by the combination of mouse and keyboard. It is a system that, initially, may give rise to some problems of orientation, but after a few hours of play proves to be more efficient and intuitive control of the gamepad on the console versions. This proves, if proof were still needed, that Worms (specifically 3D) is a title which, when allowed, must absolutely be tried on a PC.
Entering the merits, the first striking element is the amount of options and game modes. Every aspect of the battle can be changed at will, both for the single-player campaign, both in the multiplayer. This mode is, in effect, the backbone of the Worms series. It must be said that the different skill levels of Artificial Intelligence to perform their job duties, but to challenge three friends on the same computer is not an opportunity to miss.
We would expect that with the new colorful three-dimensional graphics, the number of hunters worms is likely to increase. In addition to expanding the repertoire of the ballistic solution, in fact, the 3D gives the stock a charm that captures at first glance. Earthworms, while not shining in number and quality of detail, are still able to express a large number of emotions through facial expressions.
It should also be noted that each acre of space and every fort is editable in real time shots of TNT. The faculty of deforming the scenario opens up a serious infinite opportunities during missions, which should never be addressed by following a predefined strategy.
At any time, in fact, the enemy is able to blow up a particular passage with a sticky bomb, forcing the player to give up the offensive with the mad sheep explosive move to a more versatile air attack, a bomb or banana or an earthquake!
More like intermission at each end of a fun scene in which the worms if you give it a thrashing, or collide with the old explosive.
